June EP06/12

Crazy to think that we are half way through the year already. Life just ticks on by without us noticing. Meditating on that inspires me more and more to make each day count and fill it with things I like to do even if that means being lazy some mornings and sleeping in late.

Anyways, June was awesome. I went to see my family for the last week of may and got back June 2nd. I hadn’t seen my fam for almost a year and a half so it was good to chill with them for a week and just get away from the craziness here. I got back into reading a lot and have been journaling almost daily which I find really helpful to keep my head in check.

As this little project continues for the year I’ve learned that I REALLY fuckin hate talking into the camera. I much prefer being in the background of things so I’m going to do less and less talking as this continues for the year. I love having a project to work on every month with these videos. It’s one of those things that means nothing but at the same time it means a lot.

I love living in Twin and being away, even for a week made me appreciate how much I enjoy living here. There are always people coming through, old friends and new, and I’m grateful that I have been able to make a life for myself here. Having said that I constantly have the urge to travel more but when you sacrifice so much to do the things you love all the time you have to accept the trade off –> meaning you don’t have the money to be able to travel as much as you want. The flip side of that would be working a normal job and having money to do whatever you want but not having time to do so. You’re fucked either way hahaha. Thats just the way of the world though. I get to jump almost everyday and I’m getting better at better at every aspect of BASE. I view being here almost as being in school or something. Building my skills so when I do eventually go somewhere else I will be well prepared.

I’m not sure if I’ve ever written anything here about it but I’ve mentioned to lots of people how I view the bridge almost as the gym. In almost every sport athletes spend most of their time training then go and compete then come back for more training. The bridge gives me the ability to do that. I know 99.9% of people don’t have the luxury of being able to do that but I committed my life it to and sacrificed everything in order to be able to do it.

People are always telling me how lucky I am to live here but luck has NOTHING to do with it. It’s all come from work and conscious decisions. Same as anything in life I guess.

Enough babble – 6 down, 6 to go.
